Decision Voting
Make clear, transparent decisions together. Create decisions in the sidebar, review context, vote on the Stage, and store final results permanently

What Decision Voting is
Decision Voting lets teams create structured decisions, attach context, and vote directly on the Stage. Each decision is prepared in the sidebar and then presented to all participants. Voting happens with a single click, and the final result becomes a permanent, immutable record stored in the meeting.
When to use Decision Voting
- When a team needs a clear, documented decision.
- When multiple options must be compared transparently.
- When decisions require supporting material like screenshots or documents.
- When you want a structured review before voting.
- When decisions must remain visible after the meeting.
- When you want to avoid unclear verbal agreements.
Create a decision
- Open StageTools in your Teams meeting.
- Click Decision Voting in the left sidebar.
- Click New Decision.
- Add a title and a description.
- Add one or more voting options.
- Attach screenshots, captures, documents, or images if needed.
- Save the decision.
You can also create a decision directly from a Note or Task. The content of the Note or Task is automatically copied into the description of the new decision, so you only need to add a title and define the voting options.
Each decision opens in its own pop‑up window in the sidebar, so you can prepare multiple decisions without interrupting the meeting.

Review before voting
Participants can review the decision and all attached context before voting begins. This ensures everyone understands the options and supporting material.
- Screenshots and captures
- Documents
- Images
- Notes or descriptions
- Multi Share captures or annotated content
Start the vote
When you start the vote, the decision becomes the focus of the entire meeting. The decision appears on the Stage for all participants.
- Anyone can activate Follow‑Me and start the vote.
- The decision appears centered on the Stage.
- All participants see the same view.
- Options are displayed clearly and can be selected with one click.
- The meeting leader sees who has voted and who hasn’t.
Voting on the Stage
Participants vote directly on the Stage. Each option is a button, and voting requires only a single click.
- Votes are anonymous for participants.
- The meeting leader sees the voting progress.
- Participants cannot change their vote once submitted.
- The vote ends when the leader closes it.

Final, immutable results
Once the vote is closed, the result becomes a permanent, tamper‑proof record. Results cannot be changed or overwritten.
- Results are stored in the sidebar.
- Each decision is marked as Approved, Rejected, or Unresolved.
- All context remains attached.
- Results can be reviewed after the meeting.
- Results can be shared via a StageTools link.

Follow‑Me with Decision Voting
When Follow‑Me is active, the person who activated it leads the voting flow. All participants see the same decision, the same options, and the same progress.
- Starting the vote is synchronized for everyone.
- Switching between decisions is controlled by the meeting leader.
- If another participant activates Follow‑Me, they take over the voting flow.
- Results are visible to everyone once the vote ends.

- Use Multi View to show context during the review phase.
- Start the vote only when everyone is ready.
- Use Follow‑Me to guide the voting process.
- Store decisions as part of your meeting documentation.
Limits and notes
- Votes cannot be changed once submitted.
- Results cannot be edited or deleted.
- Only one decision can be active on the Stage at a time.
- Participants cannot start a vote while someone else is leading with Follow‑Me.
- Decisions do not automatically create Tasks — this must be done manually.
