Follow‑Me Moderation
Keep everyone aligned by synchronizing what participants see on the Stage — layouts, content screens, annotations, and stream selections.

What Follow‑Me Moderation is
Follow‑Me Moderation synchronizes the Stage view for all participants. Anyone can activate Follow‑Me. Whoever activates it becomes the meeting leader, and everyone else follows their view — including layout changes, content selections, annotations, and captures.
When to use Follow‑Me
Follow‑Me is ideal when one person needs to guide the meeting. Control can switch fluidly between participants, depending on who activates Follow‑Me.
- When you want everyone to follow the same content flow.
- When reviewing documents, designs, dashboards, or participant streams.
- When using Multi View with multiple content screens.
- When guiding demos or walkthroughs.
- When annotations need to be visible to everyone at the same time.
- When you want to avoid participants navigating away or losing context.
How to activate Follow‑Me
Every participant can activate Follow‑Me. The person who activates it becomes the meeting leader, and all other participants automatically follow their Stage view.
- Click Follow‑Me in the StageTools sidebar.
- Follow‑Me becomes active immediately.
- Your view becomes the shared view for everyone.
- A small indicator shows that you are leading the meeting.
If another participant clicks Follow‑Me, control switches instantly to them.

What Follow‑Me synchronizes
- Multi View layout (2‑up, 3‑up, 4‑up)
- Content screen selections
- Switching between Document / Screenshot / Multi Share stream
- Zoom and pan inside content screens
- Annotations (pen, highlighter, laser pointer)
- Captures and the moment they are taken
- Switching between modules (Multi View, Multi Share, Annotate, Capture)
Everyone always sees the view of the person who activated Follow‑Me.
Follow‑Me in Multi View
When Follow‑Me is active, the person who activated it controls Multi View for everyone. Every change they make is reflected instantly for all participants.
- Changing the number of content screens
- Selecting a different document, screenshot, or Multi Share stream
- Rearranging content screens
- Zooming into a specific detail
- Annotating on any content screen
If another participant activates Follow‑Me, they immediately take over control of Multi View.

Follow‑Me with Multi Share
When you select a Multi Share stream for a content screen, all participants instantly see the same stream — even if multiple participants are sharing at the same time.
- Each participant can share up to two streams.
- Streams appear only in the Multi Share list of the person leading the meeting.
- The leader selects which stream appears in which content screen.
- If another participant activates Follow‑Me, they take over and can choose different streams.
Follow‑Me with Multi Capture
When you take a capture using the camera icon in a content screen, everyone sees the exact moment you captured — including zoom, pan, and annotations.
- Captures reflect the leader’s view.
- Participants cannot take captures themselves.
- Captures appear under Screenshots for further use.
- If another participant activates Follow‑Me, they take over and their captures become the shared reference.
Best practices
- Activate Follow‑Me when guiding structured reviews or demos.
- Use Multi View to lead participants through multiple contents.
- Zoom in on important details to focus attention.
- Use annotations to highlight key points.
- Switch streams in Multi Share to compare participant inputs.
- Let control switch naturally when another participant needs to lead.
Limits and notes
- Any participant can activate Follow‑Me at any time.
- Activating Follow‑Me transfers meeting control instantly.
- Participants cannot change their own view while someone else is leading.
- Follow‑Me synchronizes the Stage, not the sidebar.
- Participants can still share streams while Follow‑Me is active.
- Follow‑Me does not override Teams’ native UI or personal settings.
Summary
Follow‑Me Moderation synchronizes the Stage view for all participants. Anyone can activate it and instantly lead the meeting. It works seamlessly with Multi View, Multi Share, Multi Annotate, and Multi Capture, making it ideal for structured reviews, demos, and guided discussions.
