Multi Annotate
Draw, highlight, and point directly on any content shown on the Stage — including participant streams, documents, and screenshots.

What Multi Annotate is
Multi Annotate adds a precise, lightweight annotation layer on top of any content shown on the Stage. You can draw, highlight, erase, or use a laser pointer — even on live participant streams from Multi Share. Annotations stay aligned with the content and are visible to everyone.
When to use Multi Annotate
- Mark important areas during reviews or walkthroughs.
- Highlight UI elements, diagrams, dashboards, or text.
- Guide attention during discussions.
- Annotate directly on participant streams from Multi Share.
- Keep explanations clear without switching tools.
- Support collaborative thinking in real time.
How to start Multi Annotate
- The annotation toolbar is located at the bottom of the Stage.
- Choose a tool: Pen, Highlighter, Eraser, or Laser Pointer.

Where you can annotate
You can annotate on any content shown on the Stage — regardless of the source.
- Documents
- Screenshots
- Multi Share streams (live participant sharing)
- Any content screen inside Multi View (2‑up, 3‑up, 4‑up)
Annotations stay aligned even when content scrolls, updates, or changes.
Annotation tools
Pen
Draw freehand lines to mark, circle, underline, or sketch. Choose from multiple colors.
Highlighter
Use a soft, transparent highlighter to emphasize text, diagrams, or UI elements.
Laser Pointer
Each participant gets their own laser pointer in their own color. Point at anything without drawing.
Eraser
Remove individual annotations with the partial eraser — without clearing the entire layer.
Annotating in Multi View
Each content screen in Multi View has its own annotation layer. You can annotate on one screen without affecting the others
- Works in 2‑up, 3‑up, and 4‑up layouts.
- Each screen keeps its own annotations.
- Switching layouts keeps annotations aligned.
- Streams from Multi Share can be annotated like any other content.

How Multi Annotate works with other modules
- Multi Share — Annotate directly on participant streams.
- Multi View — Annotate on each content screen independently.
- Multi Capture — Captures include all annotations, zoom, and pan.
- Notes & Tasks — Add annotated captures to notes, tasks, or decisions.
- Follow‑Me Moderation — Ensures everyone sees the same annotations.
Best practices
- Use the highlighter for emphasis and the pen for precision.
- Keep annotations minimal to avoid visual overload.
- Use the laser pointer for quick references without drawing.
- Combine annotations with Multi Capture to document key moments.
- Clear annotations between topics to keep the Stage clean.
- Annotate on Multi Share streams to guide participant demos.
Limits and notes
- Annotations are tied to the content screen, not the source.
- Clearing annotations removes them only from the current screen.
- Laser pointers do not create drawings.
- Only the moderator can clear all annotations.
- Annotations remain visible until cleared or replaced.
Summary
Multi Annotate adds a precise, lightweight annotation layer to any content on the Stage. It works across documents, screenshots, and participant streams, integrates seamlessly with Multi View, and helps guide discussions with clarity and focus.
